Email QR Code: Open a Pre-Filled Draft With One Scan

An Email QR code opens a pre-addressed email draft the moment it is scanned. The recipient, subject, and body can all be pre-filled.

That means the person scanning just has to hit send.

This is a dynamic type, so the destination email address and message can be updated anytime without reprinting the code.

It removes a step that costs conversions: typing out an email address correctly from a printed flyer or sign.

How an Email QR Code Works

Scanning the code opens the device’s default email app with the recipient field, subject line, and message body already filled in.

Because it is dynamic, TLinky routes the scan through a short link first, which means every scan gets logged in your dashboard the same way a Link QR code does.

When to Use an Email QR Code

Use it for support requests, event RSVPs, newsletter signup requests, or any situation where you want a direct line into a specific inbox without a landing page.

It works especially well on printed materials where typing a long or unusual email address invites typos, since the scan fills it in exactly.

How to Create an Email QR Code in TLinky

  1. From your TLinky dashboard, click Create, then select QR Code.
  2. Name the code. A domain is assigned automatically based on your plan for dynamic types.
  3. Choose Email from the dynamic type list.
  4. Enter the recipient address, and optionally a subject line and message body.
  5. Set the templates, colors, and design, click Generate QR, then Save Changes.

Download as SVG, PNG, WebP, or PDF once saved.

Updating the Destination Later

Open the code from your dashboard, select Edit QR, and change the recipient, subject, or body. Every already-printed copy of the code reflects the update on the next scan.

FAQ

Can I pre-fill the subject and message, not just the recipient?

Yes. TLinky lets you set a recipient address, subject line, and body text, all optional beyond the recipient itself.

Does an Email QR code work if the phone has no email app set up?

The scan opens whatever email app is set as default. If none is configured, the phone will typically prompt the user to choose or set one up first.

Can I track how many people scanned an Email QR code?

Yes. Email is a dynamic type, so every scan is logged in your TLinky dashboard the same way it is for Link QR codes.
